Twitter Expert Connect Part 3

For my Twitter Expert Connect Project, I decided to follow ten people in my area of research. The first ten were @Jessica @Mellisa de la Cruz @AV Geiger @Lindsey Summers @Ali Novak @Lauren @Blair @Victoria Aveyard @Vashti Harrison @Rebecca Sky. I followed these people because they are all authors. For my Twitter Expert Connect Project, I wanted to learn some tips, challenges, and ways of writing. I have always had an interest in writing and there is a quote that goes “Give someone a book, they’ll read a day. Teach someone how to write a book, they’ll experience a lifetime of paralyzing self doubt. Fo my genius hour project, I am researching ways to deal with depression and anxiety for cancer patients. One of the biggest, eye-catching unexpected way of dealing with depression for cancer patients is writing or drawing. And since, I am interested in writing, I decided to use the Twitter Expert Connect Project as an opportunity to learn different styles of the art of writing and it’s cure.
Along the way of keeping up with the activities of the authors, I met some of their mutuals too and I followed @Austen Richelle Snow @BCBA @Monica @Raathi Chota @Cat @Faye @Nimco Ali @Morgan Jerkins @M. Bergmann I asked most of these authors some questions about writing such as their favorite characters and why and a particular answer caught my attention. @Raathi replied with “My favorite character would have to be Keene Stoner, no matter how strange his name is, he has a big heart. I wanted to create a character that has been through rough times but still came out strong and proved everyone wrong by getting them to respect him.” This is like cancer patients, they go through rough times and still get respected by people sometimes because of their condition while others are respected because they’ve been strong and have adapted to writing as a hoppy or lifestyle. My questions were not formal neither were they formal, they were somewhere in between. Instead of using a “Dear or Ms. Mr” I used something like a “Hi” My questions were really straightforward with a question mark at the end to indicate it is a question. At the end, I usually wrote a “Thanks” too.
I got 8 replies from 10 people. 4 of the authors were really engaged and tried to answer my questions as best as they could. The other 4 told me to check their Instagram pages or Youtube videos. Some of the authors gave me answers that were on point but others kind of curved my questions. Or gave me really short answers. All the authors who replied to my tweet, like it and thanked me for liking my book but @Raathi followed me back. Most of the authors gave me links to their websites or youtube channels or their lists on twitter. About 2 of them offered to give me help if I need any more assistance. I continued the conversation with @Raathi and href=”https://twitter.com/RebeccaSky”>@Rebecca Sky because they seemed really interested. Communication is a skill I have learned through these project. Technology allows people to connect faster and easier. In the future, I would be able to use communication to gather information and I will also be able to share writing skills and tips.

All these information I have gathered through my Twitter Connect Project will hopefully reach out to cancer patients telling them different stories of people going through difficult times and how they got through it with the aid of writing and other things. Cancer patients will also understand how they could escape their situation and the obstacles they are going through writing. They can escape depression and sadness by being in a world they’ve created.
